How to Password Protect a Video

Regarding the content security of its clients, security, secrecy, authenticity, and authorisation is at the highest priority by CASTNEST. We have given our clients several alternatives to place limits on their material to accomplish the required security concerns.

Let's read through the following document.

You have not uploaded any videos yet and need to learn how to upload them. Follow the document "How to Upload Video."

Click on videos in the portal's left main menu after you've uploaded your video. Square boxes will show as the video's workspace. Click on the uploaded video you wish to change the configuration for to edit it.

Once you are in editing mode, video control panel access is available. From this panel, you have multiple configurations for your uploaded video.

Let's select the Security option from the left menu of the video control panel.

• Here you have four different options based on your selected package permissions.
• Password Protection
• Geo-Restriction
• Domain Control
• Secure Token
• Password Protection
• The main objective of this feature is to password-protect your video for viewing. Only legitimate users having the password shared by you will be able to access the video by entering the correct password. All other viewers trying to access the stream shall get the message "Content is Password Protected"!
• For the implementation, you need to click on the toggle button next to the phrase "Password Protection"!
• This toggle button will turn green, and an input box will open for your password input.

• Enter the password you want to apply and click the "Save" button. On saving, a pop-up will appear on the right corner of the portal screen.

• Your entered password will be visible for your future reference.
• Now your video is password protected. You can test it by clicking on the "Player" option on the video control panel.

• Or click the "Sharing" option and click on the player arrow icon to open the video in another browser window.

• Now you can share the password with the viewers you want to see your video content.
• If an illegitimate user tries to access the video or a legitimate user enters the wrong password, the viewer will get the response "Wrong Password"!

• After entering the correct password, Castnest Player will open, and the user can easily view the video by clicking the "Play Button"!

Your uploaded video is live now. If you want to configure it, you can use several options to manage the video viewership behaviour.

Otherwise, you are good to go. Share the link with the audience with the password. You can grab the sharing link from the sharing menu option in the video control panel. Click the copy button and share.
